new 2007 coupe, severe axle tramp

Hi!

I bought a new 07 coupe 6mt about 3 months ago, and for the first time did a clutch drop, and was very unhappy with the results, SEVERE axle tramp, to the point of feeling like I was really about to wreck the rear end. I had an 05 350Z and never felt more than light tramp, but this is crazy. Is this normal? Is there a fix? I did a search here but only found random comments about axle hop with no clear consensus.

Otherwise I love the new ride. The Z was getting a little rough for normal driving!

Thanks,
James

My G does that too, but, I found that it really depends on the road/traction too... Sometimes it doesn't hop at all.

I'm not sure if theres a real way to actually fix that problem though... So I guess I'm of no help. Haha.

Pretty tough issue to solve. Mine does it only on occasion and it depends on the surface. Definitely not good for the car. I avoid clutch drops at all costs. 2500-3000RPM and feathering seems to be the best.

Thanks for the comments, I guess I will avoid this unless "absolutely necessary" and only on good pavement. This is necessary to get good acceleration from a stop though, the cars bogs for a couple seconds if you just hammer it from a stop!

Mine doesn't bog unless you leave VDC on??
