Like a grinding noise for a few seconds?

The clutch chatter is normal.

the engine noise i'm talking about doesn't sound like a grinding noise...it sounds like a shakey noise like the timing belt or something..and it starts making that noise the whole time when the car is running...i also get the grinding noise too when i step on the gas at a low rpm

The noise you hear when you take off from low RPM is the clutch. This is normal. You have to get used to the car and keep the RPM at a certain range to prevent that noise.

We have a chain, not a belt. Doesn't sound normal to me because my car doesn't do that.

it could be one of the belts not the timing chain...my car was making some shakey noises like you said and when I had the belts replaced, it dissapeared..there are two belts on the car one for the power steering and alternator...the other for the water pump and something else...can't remember....

Correction -

1 belt for A/C
1 belt for everything else - serpentine...
