If you want a Black car with a HINT if purple, there is a Nissan paint with this. I dont know the exact color code, but if you want it, I can ask my friend what it is. His skyline is "black", or thats what I thought until I saw it in very bright sun, and then you can see a hint of purple specs in the paint.

well i wasnt saying to use euro paint because the way it looks just because japanese paint is such garbage. Put a black g35 through a machine wash (not that id ever put mine through one) see what it looks like after. it will look like garbage. Put a black benz or bimmer through a machine wash it will look fine.

Here's the thing though... Nissans and Infinitis use PPG paint. Last I checked on their corporate website, they're an American company... Not that I'm disagreeing though. Glassurit (Euro paint company) by far is superior to any PPG paint that Asian automakers use.

I think Nissan black pearl is the best black, when the sun shines you see the pearl.

I'd like to know this as well. What ballpark is a top-quality full paint job in?

FWIW, I'd go with a darkish candy red color.

well a lot of the price depends on paint and the size of the vehicle.... also whether or not the person who is doing the painting is doing through a shop or doing it as a side job.... through a shop which most people have to go through labor is typically around 90 and hour where as the side job that im having done im only being charged 50 an hour so he was estimating for a good quality paint job that it will be somewhere around 3000 to 3500... shop would probably charge anywhere between 5000 to 7000

Wow, 5-7k is absolutely freaking insane.

Anyway, as to your situation, I think you'll need to look for different examples of black in real life, because computer monitors can't really show what most car paints really look like. Maybe go to a few dealerships and look at new cars, and find the style of black you like there...
