got my ride back

as some of you may remember, i got cought in a flood and had some major damge to my ride (all engime related thought) my rods and pistons were all bent but anyway, i finally got it back. injured but recovering. i had them do something about the squeeking sunroof, and replace the radio even though i was getting NO problems with the cd player (just in case) but my concern is that the engine will never be the sanme again. has anyone had any major engine work done? when i look at the block, i see a whole bunch of gasket shiit overflowing the block, i guess its gasket maker but i need to remove the excess. but it is running good. any commments would be appreciated. thanks RacerX

Re: got my ride back

Glad to hear your back on the road....
That wasn't too long a period of time for the fix....or am I wrong?
As far as the motor....I'm sure your motor is nice and strong...I have had a few motor rebuilds in the past and even though I told them I planned to show the car....I still had to go over some areas to bring it back up to the standard I was expecting....(overspray here, gasket sealer over there etc)
if you took your car to a reputable place...the work should be guaranteed for a period of time...so clean up what you can and enjoy your resurrected car!!!!!! 2old4this

Just make sure you follow the break in period again, with new pistons and all.
