My 2006 G35 Coupe is doing something very strange. Every other day when I turn the car off the trunk buttons don't work and I can’t open my trunk. When I hold the key fob down I get no response, when I use the interior trunk button the same. The only way I can make it work is to get back in the car, stick the key in, turn the car on, and turn the car off. Only after that, it will then respond to the remote and interior button. The car has been brought to an independent mechanic and he could not fix it. It is now at a local Infiniti dealership. The dealership has had my car for the past 3 days. The called me yesterday night and said this is the last day they will try to fix it, if it doesn't work then I will force to accept this flaw.

Has anyone else had this problem with their G? And if so, how was it fixed (if fixed at all)?

Uh...talk to the service manager about this because you shouldn't have to accept this flaw just because they can't figure out the problem. If it came down to it, the dealership should replace the entire system. If the service manager gives you the same answer, screw them and go straight to Infiniti HQ.

 

I did not know how to open the trunk with the key untill i realize there was a secret button by the glovebox you have to hit. That fixed the problem.

 

This has already been discussed. There is nothing wrong with your car. Let me guess you have a 6mt right? You turned your car off before coming to a complete stop and waiting for a second before you pull the key out. If you just pop the key out before letting the car come to a complete stop the computer wont register that the car has stopped moving, so you have to put the key in and take it out before it'll let you open your trunk.
