Decided to drive from San Diego up the coast to San Francisco this past weekend...made it in under 6 hours and only 1 speeding ticket :-p

I can't explain how amazing this car is. Qiet, smooth, fast, powerful...I was even impressed with the seats after the whole drive.

My friend kept taking the keys from me cause he loved the attention he got when he drove it.

Saw a lady driving a black coupe down by the Marina in SF and passed a CB coupe going north on the 5 yesterday.

Definitely the best car I've taken on a road trip...the thing pretty much drives it's self...but don't be stupid like me cause if you're not paying attention, you'll look down and realize you're going 120 when it feels like you're going 75...

 

Man, That sounds like a dream trip. Just what we all need after this %^&*$# winter up here in the Tundra! (Too bad about the ticket, tho.)

curious, what kind of gas mileage did you get? i got about 15mpg from mostly city driving from my last 1/2 tank...

'03.5 Sedan, Silver/Black, Leather, Sport

 

I was averaging around 450 miles a tank...which would be about 22-24 mpg...keep in mind this is also going no slower than 75 mph and up into the 100-120 mph range frequently...I'm sure those high numbers didn't help too much either.

 

You must have taken Hwy 5 the whole way to make it in 6 hours!! I plan on taking a trip from here in LA to SF via Hwy 1 once the weather warms up. Much slower than the "5", but very scenic and twisty

 

I'm definitely going up the 1 once I get my coupe. Very twisty, very scenic, lot's of good culture along the way. I have a friend in half moon bay that I promised to see when I get the coupe.

I got nailed at 103 in a 70. He pulled me over and he goes, "I got you at 103..." my friend sitting shotgun goes, "103...!!!???" (as in 'we were going a lot faster than that')...didn't want to **** the officer off. I rolled my windows down before he pulled me over, so I didn't get busted for the tint...but the ***** walked around to the front of the car and gave me a fix-it ticket for no front license plate. I'm PISSED about that. There's no way I'm drilling holes in my front bumper for a freaking front plate...I haven't had a front plate on any car that I've had in the last 10 years and I've not been busted for that once...time to see who I know at the Police station.

Yeah...took the 5 there and was planning on taking the 1 back...but my roommate called me from Vegas and was stranded after the Phish show...so he hitchhiked and I picked him up outside of Bakersfield...I was SO looking forward to taking the Pacific Coast Highway down...oh well...guess I'll do it next time :-p

Man the best you can do is go to court and and pray the officer who wrote you the ticket doesn't show up. If he doesn't, then you walk.

Otherwise, get a lawyer. He might be able to get you a reduction based on the method used to write the ticket.

I don't know about CA, but in VA, you'd be chraged with reckless driving and have your license suspended for 33 over the limit. 20 over will get you that here.

 

He probably didn't write the ticket for 101. Yeah, the liscence plate thing is just dick. I would have told the friend to meet me in Santa Barbara cause I'm taking the 1!

i'm soooooo freakin' jealous. what i wouldn't give for a ticket just to have my car. i ordered a 6M/T and wont be here until may..even july at the latest. good luck in court and i'll be sure to pay attention to the gauges when i get mine.
