How do you plan on cutting it in half while retaining the adhesive on both sides?

hey, im reviving this thread cause i dont think i ever got a straight answer. I rebadged my emblems with 3m double sided tape 1/2" adhesive but it was too thick. Now i've read that im supposed to cut it...but how is that possible to do? If any of you have rebadged ur rear emblems back on, specifically what was the name of the 3m tape? I heard that it had to be less than 1/4" to look OEM? Please help, thanks
