1) How much?
2) Is it worth it? Whats included?
3) Is this service mandatory?

Thanks!

1yr service?

they normally go by the mileage.

let's say 15k miles service and 30k miles.

When I hit 15k miles, i asked the dealership what included in their service. Everything he told me, pretty much I didn't need. Basically it was alot of checking, fluids, pads etc. etc.. They did include switching the tires from front to back, but I had staggered wheels which couldn't be switched...

Basically I only ended up getting a regular oil change.

Now for the 30k mile interval, I opted to go to a local nearby shop and have everything done to save some money.

1. Depends on the dealership. Look for $600+.
2. Not worth it.
3. Technically, not mandatory.

Think they change the in cabin filter at 15k, don't they? If that's the case, you buy that online and DIY. Gotta remove the glovebox i think to get at it.

After 4 years of ownership I've disregarded all dealer notices on their money making services. I do oil changes regularly, change the air filter and a/c filter when needed and check my brakes and tires. Done deal!

They do an oil change, replace the cabin air filter [DYI], replace the air filter, tire rotation [except on the G35C], they lubricate all the hinges, and some places put a can of BG 44K in the gas [buy online]. All the rest of the things are inspections. I would pass on the 15K service and do it yourself keeping all the receipts.

I just generally did my recommended maintanence (owner's manual) based on mileage rather than time. Took me 4 years to get to near the 45K service rather than the 3 years based on their estimates. And even then I did it at just over 42K so if any warranty related issues showed up, it could be handled for "free". They did fix a bolt on my door hinge that I hadn't even realized was wearing, along with the TSB on the driver's seat that I asked about when I brought it in.

well, the actual time of ownership is only 8 months now. I have 9k miles on them. so if i don't go to this (1 year service) they can't void my warranty correct.

correct... the service is NOT manditory

just DIY oil changes, air filter and in-caben filter

no need for the dealership til the 30k service
