The above picture tells it all:

Its a clear protective coating that costs about $475-600 and it protects the paint surfaces of everything it covers...
can be used on mirrors and headlights as well...almost any area of a car you want to protect from rocks, chips etc...

many G owners have it applied at the dealer (if they provide the service)...Its good to do it ASAP...so your paint isn't chipped up prior to covering it...

I don't have it on .....may have it done after I repaint my front bumper...(its already pretty marked up). I think 3M is one of the better brands...but you could do a search on this site for more info...also check out the sponsor thats here as well.....<font color=blue>2old4this</font color=blue>

Hah...that picture has the place (the ding company) I got my clear bra. But that looks like a ford focus in the picture...why the hell would anyone pay 700$ to put a bra on a freaking focus???

 

When I got my car, I purchased something called paint and interior protection package. This cost about the same as the clear bra (around 600). It is a treatment that is done inside and out and supposed to protect the same way as the clear bra. It isn't some material like vinly or something, its like just liquid treatment that is put on the car and then buffed. The warranty for this was 5 years for (exterior) damges from bird poop, fading, chalking, loss of gloss, acid rain damage and tree sap damage. Do you think this treatment will protect like the clear bras?? Thanks.

Isn't that the "Simonz" thingy? The dealer offered me a plate of that as well. From everything I know about dealer offered "paint protection"...it's wax that will eventually wash off like any other product. Nothing protects the front of the car and looks nicer than the clear bra...period.

In the immortal words of David Puddy: "We don't even know what that stuff is." The paint protection is not the same as a clear bra. It won't protect your car from stone chips or scratches and will probably wear off long before the warranty expires. It's nothing more than pure add-on profit for the dealer.
