hey guys..quick g35 question

Hey guys im new to the community and ive been researching for over a week straight on this forum but cant seem to find the answer so ill ask it anyway..

Im planning on selling my 2006 325i bmw to get a 2005 or 2006 g35 and im curious as to if i should get a manual or automatic...I understand all the hp and torque difference but i was wondering what you guys thought..the main thing im wondering is which one is quicker..and is the difference in acceleration from the manual to automatic really that noticable..

Thanks and Merry Xmas!!!!

Your joking right? Just stick with your 325 especially if it's 1 year old. If you want to get a g35, get manual.

I just bought a 2003.5 auto coupe and so far I don't think it's to bad. Considering I traded in my 1998 Integra manual couple for the G35 it's great. I don't have to be shifting all the time in traffic now when I drive it. However, I still have my 1993 Civic Hatch that's a manual with a swapped motor so if I want to go speed shifting then I do it in that. LoL

Stick with a stick......no homo...but really autos get very boring very quickly. Search around a little there have been quite a few thread about this.

and really they are not that noticeable in the power differences, also think about if you have stop and go traffic or if you just want comfort...

I bought a 6MT. At times, I wish I had a 5AT for the convenience of stop and go traffic, but I also love my 6MT when I want to drive a bit more spirited.

Could you just switch to manual mode if you want to do a little more spirited driving? I know it's not the same as a true manual but you have a little more control don't ya?

Honestly just think about what situations your going to be in. Its really up to you. Some of the guys on here get tired of driving there 6mt cause of traffic. But if your in a area where there isnt traffic.. then cheers. I have a 5at but i dont regret getting it, only because the car was bought as a graduation gift and i am already thankful for the car. Plus there is the manual mode in the 5at. theres no clutch but you can hold out on the gears as long as you want.

As for diff. in acceleration.... hrmmm dont count on me on this but i think.. (THINK!! dont wanna start a whole 6mt and 5at web bang) but the 5at accelerate faster but the 6mt just gains on it afterwards.

dude... the stick/manual thing is all on driver opinion, no matter what car.

but imo on this car, the 6mt is not all that smooth compared to like the buttery smooth 3 series, and not that it shifts horribly but requires better timing on the driver, but it is jerky... but personally i like it cuz i like the sport/grunt/machine feel...
...yet somedays when i drive my gf's 330ci auto, feels good to chill and cruise. but personally, i need that stick control majority of the time...

...so again just all up to u and what you want more
