WRX vs G35C
I'm a G35C fanatic, unfortunately funds cannot support the dream (for now=)). Anyways, has any1 raced a stock WRX? I just recently got an 03 WRX, and the acceleration is badass. I'm just wondering how the G35C compares to the WRX.
Thanx..I'll prob post somethin similiar in the G35 Sedan forum, becuz if anythin a WRX is more comparable to the Sedan.

Re: WRX vs G35C
Why is the WRX more comparable to the Sedan? Even the wagon has a smaller back seat than the Coupe.
Anyway, the WRX is like a small, feral beast. I test drove it before buying my G, and wouldn't expect to beat it. Driving the G is more rewarding to the senses (in my opinion), but the WRX will beat it through twisties and eventually beat it in a drag (it's very ordinary until the turbo kicks in). Unless the WRX has the AT, which is horribly tuned for that car, in which case I'd expect any G of any configuration to beat it.
You got the best performance car for the money though.

Re: WRX vs G35C
A regular WRX will not beat the G35c in the twisties unless it has suspension upgrades with better tires or it's raining. To 60 and a quarter it will, however, probably win. Got to have a good driver that can launch a 4wd turbo.

Re: WRX vs G35C
Haven driven the WRX, G35c, and 350Z
The WRX has no ***** until 3000 rpm (when the turbo spools up). The shifter in the G35c is much better than the WRX stock shifter (blame the soft rubber shifter bushings in the WRX). The driving experience, the Bridgestone RE92's are a touring tire (M+S rated) so they will sacriface handling grip for noise and wear. Driving it is a different experience than the G35c.
If we're arguing back seat space....the WRX has headroom which the G35c clearly lacks (that's what you get for its lovely profile).
Tinkering around...(tuning), the WRX has more potential (made for forced induction).

Re: WRX vs G35C
Was browsing through my friend's Motor Trend mag last night and it listed the regular WRX with a 0-60 in 5.8 secs. It also listed the same numbers for the G35 coupe. It would probably be a close race up to that point (the issue didn't mention 1/4-mile stats).

Re: WRX vs G35C
The two AWD turbos that I've played with, Audi S4 and Stealth R/T, were extremely easy to launch. Wind it up and drop the clutch. Unless you mean hard to launch without breaking your neck, then yes, I would agree, it's hard to launch those cars quick w/o snapping your neck.

Re: WRX vs G35C
3 reasons why I dislike the WRX:
1) cheap interior (rally or not)
2) don't forgot that the WRX comes standard w/ forced induction (turbo). We are all NA, slap on a turbo or supercharger on the coupe and kiss the wrx goodbye.
3) bottom line, car looks hella cheap. I mean the only reason people by the car usually is for its power + awd, what ever happened to looks?

Re: WRX vs G35C
You guys are forgetting the main point...WRX costs approx $10K less than a 6MT. Not that I'd buy the Subie but an additional $4-5K in mods and the G35C can't touch it perf-wise. But now we're getting into a whole "mod vs stock" story.
Either way, fit, finish, feel, quality, luxury of the G35 is so much nicer than the WRX. Whole differnt ballpark!

Re: WRX vs G35C
well i raced one on the I-85 back in atlanta. started at about 60 or 70. i would get the jump but by around 90 he would start to inch by. dont know if he was way modded but i know that he at least had an exhaust. of course i was starting in 4th, when it shouldve been in 3rd. hope that helps. from what i know, from a roll, they should be pretty easy, at least stock.
