I have 70K miles on an '03 coupe and the only problem that I have had was with the driver's side window motor and that was an easy fix. I average 18 to 22 mpg and about 16K miles per set of tires but I am a very spirited driver. Also, I am 6'2" and I sit very close to the wheel and I still have about an inch and a half of head room. Go and test drive one and see if it fits you.

I had almost 90k miles on my 2003 sedan and the only creak I had was the driver window motor and that was minor. Tread wear I got about 30k out of the oem tires but they were also all season tires. I believe they were bridgestone Turenza's

I love the way my car handles, all of the other issues to me aren't so bad.

I have an 04 with 30K miles and the only problems I've had was getting the head unit replaced because my left speaker wouldn't work, but it was replaced by warranty.

I found a really good deal on an 04 laser red coupe with about 11,000 ,miles on it. price for it is 24k which is not bad at all. I go test drive today and who knows i may just go home with this car. I hope red doesnt make my insurance go up I will have to look into the car fax to make sure everything is legit, which it should be being that i am getting this car from a certified infiniti dealer.

Only problem ive had with my G that is annoying the sh*t outa me is the passenger side window motor keeps poopin all over my window! That grease is hard as hell to get off too. I have to sit there for a good 10-15 minutes just to clean it. Then the next time i roll the window down..BOOM! Poop again. WTF? I only notice rattles in my car due to the sound system i put in it. Even with full roadkill/dynamat the only thing that really rattles is my rearview mirror....anyone know how to fix that w/o rigging it? The G is a BEAUTIFUL car and you will only have height problems if you're sitting in the back bucket seats....your head will touch the rear glass and get hair oil all over it ~_^ thats annoying too. Thats my $.02

Theres a couple tread about this.. And the cause seem to be a short with the headunit..

Here's the most recent thread.

Car Wont Start

I haven't even heard of this being an issue before.

So there are my 2 cents. Car is sexy as hell, and super fun to mod. Plus modding makes it look classy and sporty, rarely ricy.
Rarely Ricey? haha. A good majority aren't ricey.. True.. But quite a few a tacky. "Dark vador hood, ugly azz bumper, grills that don't fit, fiberglass bumper that are chipped all over the place, blue tints, blue neons, etc".

Just way too tacky for a semi luxury coupe.

Weight of the car? He's coming from a heavier car and if he upgrades to an R/T he will be over 4k lbs.

Also, cheap interior? (iusman) He's coming from a DODGE CHARGER so I don't think he'll find the interior too cheap.

Also mpg-wise R/T is lower than ours

I think it is safe to say G35's are MUCH more reliable than Chargers. At my last job I knew someone who had a brand new R/T Charger. At about 7 months the power steering unit failed and he had to get it replaced. Then a couple months later, after a drive, he rolled into his driveway and the bottom of the windshield was fogging up and his temp gauge needle was at the top.. Then the next day his car wouldn't start. Quite some serious problems less than a year in..

I'm actually in the same boat as the CL guy, except I have an accord right now. The accord is very reliable, but im tired of it. I want a car with performance, but with me being a student, I'm worried that the g35 coupe might be very expensive to maintain. I was reading this thread and some other thread, and saw the only real common problem with almost everyone was the window motor, which is fine.....i saw some deals on higher millage coupes, like in the 55-70k millage range, so I wanted some input if its worth it financially getting into something like that.....

You dont agree that our leathers feeling hard like vinyl? Ever been in a simple Lexus? Their leather is soft and very plush. Our feels like vinyl.

I went to the dealer a bit late yesterday due to me having to work late. And upon me getting there rather than waste my time looking at 03s and 04s, I saw 2 06s with low miles on them running around the same price range as the the older models with high mileage. With that being said, i am now just going to look into 06 coupes.I was able to get into the car yesterday and i fit perfect. coming from a dodge, the interior was fine to me as well . If it all works out and i am ment to be in this car, i will def do the switch over to this sexy beast. I hope Geico takes it easy on me

I don't agree about the interiors feeling cheap - I've got an '07 and the leather feels very soft, just as good or better than any lexus I've been in.
I know most leather interiors will start to feel hard after a few years if they are never conditioned.
