Battery just died and car wont start, no idea why lol

Im not even with my car, i dropped it off at exhaust systems hawaii and they call me asking if there is a special way to start my car, all the guy hears is clicking when trying to start. They are recharging my battery right now and they are going to jump start my car. I started the car fine 10 mins before this happened. Anyone else has a battery die but dont know why??? no dome light was left on and i drive the car everyday so it wasn't sitting.

In case you're wondering its a 2003 with 50k miles.

I recently had this problem and thought it was my starter. I popped my clutch and drove home with nothing on except my headlights. My mechanic also said it could be a dead spot on the clutch This happened a few months ago but I've been fine for now (knocking on wood)

Ive been reading these forums and ive heard a lot of people say their battery has died for no reason. Im starting to wonder if i should get that extended warranty, i just bought the car this month.

Our batteries are complete crap. My '04 almost doesn't start when I don't drive it for like 3 straight days. I have the battery out right now while the car is stored, and I try to charge it like every 2 weeks with a portable battery charger... whenever I check, the battery is always at like 60% capacity.... I charge it back up, and then like 20 minutes later it's back down to 65%.

I assume that when I put it back in the car in Spring, it may not even provide enough juice to start at all... at which point I'll buy an Optima Red Top.

I don't think its the battery. Theres something draining the battery. Maybe the headunit.

maybe our alternators suck, all I know is that if you draiun a battery down and it sits for a decent amount of time, like a couple days or a week, the cells inside die. Your battery will still work but not at full capacity ever again.

You shouldn't be charging a battery like that, you are just making the matter worse. You should use a trickle charger for storing a car battery for an extended period of time. I bought mine for only about $40 from Amazon and it's a reputable brand. Sounds like you DEFINITELY need a new battery as soon as possible.

Ummm yes, do you think a battery will stay 100% charged forever?

It should last longer then 3 days when the car is in storage. If ur driving daily then the battery should last for quite some time. Because the alternator charges the battery.
