New G35 Coupe

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and I have to admit that it is a great one. Well, I would really appreciate if I could get some good advice and suggestions...
The lease on my BMW 325i just expired and I am thinking of getting the G35 coupe. I have never driven a Nissan/Infiniti before. I think that a test drive on the coupe will not disappoint... what concerns me is the cost of maintainence of the G35 coupe. My BMW was totally covered during the period of the lease including maintainence. Over the three years, I never paid a dime for anything that was done to the car... brakes, wipers, suspension, oil change, filters... anything at all. So, the over $500 lease price didn't really hurt that much. I believe, the G35 would be $500 plus too, but what about other costs...
I would appreciate if someone could tell me how much to expect to spend on the car and how often (the infiniti website recommends a premium service every 3 months or 3000 miles or so.... that is insane... if I have to spend even a 150 bucks every three months, that basically means I would be paying another 50 bucks every month on my lease... for that price, I could possibly get a decent BMW 525i or a good 330ci (I'm talking payments of around 550-600)...
I don't really know much about car repairs... just that the car mechanics seem to charge more money per hour than lawyers or doctors... so it's better to have peace of mind that no matter what goes wrong (except a flat, of course), you have absolutely nothing to worry about...
Please help!!!

Re: New G35 Coupe

You may try to work some of the costs in with the dealer. Mine has free oil changes for the life of ownership. Also, Although they RECOMMEND premium service, i wouldn't worry too much about just going to a quick-lube and getting the proper oil change there. Especially for a lease car. Wil only cost you $30 vs $150 per trip. Also, I don't know about that $150 thing. seems AWFUL steep foe every 3000 miles. Do you get a downpayment on new tires for that price???

Well, the $150 was what I assumed a service would cost, but honestly, I don't know how much the maintainence of a G35 coupe costs...

Re: New G35 Coupe

You didn't mention AT versus MT, 18in G35 coupe or regular, mileage per year, how many total years, buying at the end of the lease, etc.. makes a difference

i think the dealer "recommended" 15k service is 150-200 bucks and the 30k mile one is 450bucks. As far as I know, you only have to do what's "required" in the manual, so since you are leasing and don't care about the car longterm, you can get away for less $. Doing those "recommended" service will not improve the performance/life of the auto in the 4 years you are leasing in my opinion. Other than that, do the oil changes. And if you drive an average amount, I believe the manual says oil changes every 7000 miles instead of 3500...... 30-35 bucks at the dealer. And you do NOT even have to perform all maintenance at the dealer - so you can get cheaper maintenance if you wish.

But, brake replacement is a little expensive (if you don't have the AT which are under 36k mile warranty) and 18" Tires for the g35c can cost you 250 a piece + mounting fees and only run 20-25k miles.

Overall, it's not that bad

Re: New G35 Coupe

The 6mt coupe with the brembos is really expensive to keep up. The dealer quoted me $1500 for new front brake pads and rotors. That is not cheap.

Rob...holly crap...when I had to replace my Brembos...it was around $250 at the dealer for new pads and they machined the rotors (which wasn't REALLY neccessary)...think you should check again with your dealer...
