Man i just got my car towed...I was dropping some heavy heavy grocery and homedepot stuff....then i left the car infront of the apartment building....and then feel asleep...then suddenly i heard the alarm going off not knowing thats my car but i was like where is my car then i remember that my car is infront of the building....looked down and its was on the tow truck and the door was open...ran down talked to that guy stopped him in time b4 he drive away...i ran down and opened his door to stop him....and had to pay 50 bucks....$$$$$
luckily no scratches, just the plastic on the passanger side window was squished when he opened the door.....but yea man our car can be easily stolen in no time.....
sorry guys just have to vent....

I still have to say the craziest towing story I've ever seen/heard was when I first moved into my new house, my neighbors 3 houses down had an Escalade. It got reposessed....at 4 AM, and the guy made NO noise until he drove away....it was disgustingly sick. We saw some guy screwin around with the Escalade while we were outside having ciggarettes, we thought to call the police cuz he was being really quiet and careful, then he walks down the street, drives his tow truck up, and literally, in about ~45 seconds after he pulled up with the tow truck, the escalade was gone. Make you scared never to miss a payment, I'll tell you that much.

dumb question but..even if he got the door open shouldn't the alarm have gone off? I recall accidentally turning the alarm on while my girlfriend was in the car...when she opened the door the alarm went off

Yea i know its going to be in his pocket....but what can i do...the car is on the tow truck...now im considering to get a 2 way alarm like Clifford 2 way alarm....something like that...coz the stock alarm is only passive

50 bucks is a good deal if you think about it. My moms car got towed and it was at the yard for about 1 hour and they charged something like 250 buck. It was unbelievable.

Would a better alarm have kept the guy from hooking up your car? The tow truck driver could care less about an alarm, in fact he'd prefer if the owner called the cops because it would legitimize his tow. Save your money and just don't park illegaly next time.

My buddy's bronco wouldn't fit in the parking garage so he paid $50 a month for a reserved spot in the lot across the street. At least once a week he would have to have a car towed from his spot. He had the tow truck number on speed dial, truck would be there in 5 minutes, driver took a couple poloroids showing the reserved sign, hook up the car and be gone in 60 seconds. No alarm on the planet is gonna stop them.

Just think of it as a $50 fee for being too lazy to legaly park your car.

Well i know that an alarm has nothing to do with the towing incident...but from this i found out how easy it is to disable the alarm by the tow truck guy and also the alarm won't even sound when its been moved on to the tow truck....And the next time if the alarm sounds even i dun hear it the 2 way alarm should help, so as motion sensor / tilt sensor....etc
