Hey I'm gettin the coup 6 speed and I'm also going to keep my other car and I'm moving. My honda can't tow anything over 1000 lbs so I was wondering if I can tow my honda with the coupe. I looked at the back of the coupe and it doesn't look like it can hook up the thing to tow with. Anyone got suggestions? Can you even tow a car with the g35? Thanks

 

I wouldn't recomment towing another car w/ the G. The Honda weighs at least 3000lbs plus another 1000lbs for the trailer. The G is not designed to pull that much weight but the engine is capable.

 

I wouldn't even dream of doing that with the G.[img]/w3timages/icons/crazy.gif[/img]

I have to tow my Jetski with my Sedan. It's 1200~ lb with trailer. That is far more than enough for it to pull. I had a Pathfinder before, same engine, never had a issue pulling anything.

Are you sure your Honda can't tow with more than a 1000 lb tongue and not tow weight? That's a completely different rating. The tongue weight is how much actual weight your hitch is supporting, not pulling. I used to tow with my Sentra. It was rated at 1000 lb for the tongue weight and I think 4 or 5k for total tow.

What is wrong with the G towing? Vettes do it, Vipers do it. S2K's do it! You do realize the G is a $35K car, right? Nothing wrong with towing a small trailer to the track. Or the motorcycle. Am I saying to two a fifth wheel? No. But stop the snobbery.

BTW, anybody find a tow hitch yet?

Sorry, but putting a tow hitch on a G35 coupe is like putting a strap-on on Carmen Electra.

 

I don't have a problem with the latter.

call a tow truck and don't be cheap. It'll cost you more money in the long run if u used ur g to tow!!!

A discreet hitch, possibly hidden behind the registration plate, would be great. Short of placing the G on a trailer and my bike behind it onthe same trailer then hook up the trailer to the pickup, how do you suggest getting them both to the track?

Really, I think the people that are insanely against the hitch are those that think the G is such the expensive car. Get over it. The G is not an expensive car, is not rare and once again if a beaufitul viper or a Porsche can do it, the G certainly can.

But again, I'm not saying that a gooseneck mount looks good or even a Class IV, but a 1 or 2 hidden when not in use.

I completely agree with myG35ZX. I would like to get a hitch for my coupe. I would use it to carry my mountain bike and to tow my motorcycle.

As soon as I can find one, I will get it...
