hello group. i'm new to this forum. i have an blk 06' g35 coupe. stock other than the 20" wheels and tires i put on the car.

i saw where some cars are "Rev" models. exactly what is that and how can i find out if my G falls into that catagory?

you should really do a search...

but hey, never did like the search thing myself. Anyway, on 05's...6mt has the 298hp revup engines, 5at has the 280hp non-revup.

Revup has slighty higher compression, thus, increasing horsepower, increasing the redline...but slighty less torque than 280hp non-revup.

 

And if you do have an 2006 with a 6mt tranny = rev-up VQ, keep an eye on your oil level.
Many of these have oil consumption issues, but there's finally a TSB released for that issue.

i guess that this car is rated at 280 hp considering it has a 5spd auto tranny?

Yes you are correct. 5AT= NON rev-up.
