Knowing a service manager at BMW, and hearing the stories of customer's car problems that make him feel guilty to be a representative of BMW, I would say that you would be jumping out of the frying pan an into the fire.

The G, however, has proven to be an expensive car to maintain properly. She needs some TLC--but quirkyness tends to be good for the character of the car--as long as it is not TOO quirky!!

The OC stories are horrifying, however. Do you know when the swap the engines that you are actually getting a new engine or a rebuilt engine? It amazes me that after all of these years service departments are still able to treat people like trash and get away with it.
