Eibach Or Tein??
Re: Eibach Or Tein??
First question would be, what exactly are you looking to gain from the modification? Looks, increased handling, etc... ?.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
I am looking for the same response. I can say I want the ride to be as close to stock as possible. From what I hear the Tein's are the ones to go with for that reason. The BIGGEST concern of mine is the ability to correct the camber/toe in settings. From doing searches I am more confused b/c some say you will need aftermarket parts to correct and some don't. I know if you severely drop you will need help but for the standard Tein or Eibachs I am not sure. If someone can give me a definative answer on if you can use Tein or Eibach and get the alignment very close to stock settings than I will be purchasing some.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
Ricky - I went the Tein route with their H-Tech springs. The G settled into a 3/4" drop & the ride's almost the same as stock. In fact, it's only SLIGHTLY noticeable when I drive over more prominent expansion joints. The body lean seems to have been reduced somewhat although it was never bad to begin with & I have the Eibach sways set up for neutral/slight oversteer. As far as alignment goes there was NO trouble; in fact, I still have some adjustability left on all 4 wheels. I have the Eibach Pro Kit on my Lexus GS400 & while the alignment isn't a problem there either, the ride's a little harsher than stock ( for a 1.25" drop & a 3800# car ). That was the deciding factor for my choice of the Teins over the Eibachs. I don't know about the S-Tech's, however. They weren't a potential choice due to the deeper drop ( 1.25" ) & alignment concerns for myself as well.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
From my experience, it comes down to a matter of whether or not you want a comfortable ride, or a more aggressive ride with stiffer springs. The Eibachs will probably ride a notch rougher than the TEIN S.Tech's, as TEIN prides themselves more on the ride quality with their S.Tech development of suspension. They are both extremely reputable companies when it comes to suspension components, so it's more of a personal preference than anything. I personally recommend the TEINs to anyone that calls, they ride extremely nice and the drop is great. However, if you plan on doing autocrossing, or competitively tracking your vehicle, I would do more research or look towards other alternatives, including the Eibachs. But for a comfortable daily driver with a nice drop, S.Tech's are the way to go in my book. Plus they're light on the wallet.

I have the S-Techs and I really like them. The drop isn't to agressive but makes a huge difference in the look of the car. Here's a pic.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
if you are looking for a ride that is closest to stock, you should get the rs*r down springs for the 350Z. they lower the Z .6" front and rear, but will lower the G about .75" due to the added weight. these have a linear rear spring (like stock) and have only a slightly progressive front. these will ride closest to stock.
they are $215 shipped at Gruppe-s.com. you can also get these in titanium for weight reduction if you want.
this is a $40,000 car...don't skimp on springs. it is no good if you have a nice car that bounces all over the place.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
Ok... now I am a little confused also, I have been reading posts on people deciding and almost everyone says you need camber arms and adjustments and stuff without it messing up your tire tread and stuff. I also thought that the Tein S Tech springs were more sporty as in handling and everything plus with a bigger drop rather than the eibach's progressive spring rate which was more bouncy and confortable. Could I be wrong? I bought the S Tech's recently and am finding all of this out lol. I barely have enough money to install them and now I have to get camber arms and stuff?!?! I wanted the drop for when I put my 19's on but now I dont think i could do it. More info will help greatly, iLLG! Martin

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
I went with the TEIN S-Tech's because of the almost $100 price difference between the two. I had the Pro-Kit on my Integra and I was never satisfied with that drop. Sometimes, the front looked higher than the rear. Don't know if it's the same with the G. I installed the TEIN's myself this past weekend and was really happy with the look. The front is a little lower than the rear and makes it look much better. As for alignment, it's the rear that is usually the most out of wack. I had friends with the same drop with no problems returning it back to stock camber setting when bringing it in. So with the springs, should have no problems.
Oh and if you are at all mechanically inclined, I would encourage you to do the install yourself. The fronts are hard, but not impossible, and the rears I think my GF could have installed it. Only took 15 min. for each rear. Saved me almost $200 on the install alone.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
so kris, I should go ahead and do it then? I know a lot of people that modify their cars and serious modifications. Supras,Sti's Etc. and they said they would do it for me. But what about the alignment? Is it good to drive to a place to get it aligned? I thought you would have to get the car aligned rite after getting the springs installed. Anyway thanks for the info , iLLG

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
well if you know what you're doing and if you can get a friend to help you, then do it. would be good to have power tools too cause i used hand tools and it was a bitch. but if someone else is willing to do it then watch them do it. i did it myself becuase i saved a couple bills, and because i'm always more satisfied working on my own car.
as for alignment, it's okay to wait a little while. i'll prob wait a week or two to get it aligned. it might even help to wait a little so the springs can settle. shouldn't be too bad. with a 1" drop, the worst i can imagine happening is the alignment shop will only be able to align it to within -.2 or -.3 degrees of factory.
Good luck! I'll post pics later.

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
Ahh I see, I see...... Yea my friend and his father have been building cars, trucks and dirtbikes and stuff for a long time... My friend he's 20 built his supra to have 600 RWHP by himself. He recently just sent it over to japan to have the engine worked on with a huge turbo and other stuff he didn't feel like doing. He only runs that supra and his typhoon on race gas also.. He should be at about 900 RWHP or even more by this summer. He is putting his body kit on, springs and a lot of other things on the body!! So he said once it warms up he'll do it for me. I think I'll wanna get it aligned rite away though, Ill ask him. Thanks again for your help, Martin

Re: Eibach Or Tein??
You can always go with the Tein STechs for the 350Z. The drop won't be as much, it'll be simliar to the RSR Down springs. 0.7" front and 0.6" reare. Ride will be similar or even better than stock as the front springs are progressive on both the RSR and the Tein STEchs for 350z. The rear springs for both setups are linear. It's a subtle, clean drop. Not too low that it'll look ricey or that you'll have to worry about every bump you run over. I have a set of brand new Tein STechs for the 350Z if you're interested. PM me
