They don't have "Infiniti" in Japan, so our "Infiniti G35" is called a "Nissan Skyline 350GT" over there.
The "Skyline" most people know about is the Fast & the Furious Skyline GTR... which a new version is now coming to the US in June but will be called "Nissan R35 GT-R" and not labeled a "Skyline" anymore.
Other Skylines in Japan are the R32, R33, R34, labled: Skyline GTR, Skyline GTS, Skyline GTT, and Skyline GTS-T.
If you still don't get it... just think of it kinda like a:
Honda Civic CX, DX, LX, EX, SI, and Type R.

If they are going for the JDM look then what I dont get is, whats with the body kit?
So, they are going JDM, but they have a Greddy front (USDM), IMPUL side and a Kenstyle rear... and a Skyline 350GT badge.
I think they put it there because they think it makes the car look fast.. Because when people think of Skyline, they think of the R series motor. Not the VQ's.
And if you're going for the JDM look, I would lay off the body kits.
For example:
This is a USDM TEG: OEM lip, OEM side and rear.

This is a USDM TEG with a JDM makeover

This is when the JDM phase started. Because of how the JDM teg headlights, fendors and hood is different. People started converting their USDM tegs to the JDM one... This is what the TEG looked like out of the factory or dealership in Japan.
Thats what I call JDM.. Not aftermarket body kits with a JDM badge...

Now if they labeled it GTR instead of 350GT, that's a different motor.
VQs = Skyline in Japan.
But if you still don't get it....
The big yellow one is the sun.

If they came out the factory in Japan look like that then it would call it JDM..
Again, the TEG pics I posted up there is JDM,, because it came right out of the factory look like that.
Another example of teg owners going JDM..
This is a USDM type R seat..

This is a JDM type R seat (made by Recaro for the JDM Type R Teg)
Again, the JDM TYPE R TEG came out of the factory with those seats. So I call it JDM...

I say "Toh-mah-toe"...
"In automotive culture, JDM refers to a style of modifying, or tuning, automobiles, often agreed upon as inspired by motorsports, mainly cars of Japanese origin. Cosmetic appeal of components is often preferred over functionality."

^ My thoughts exactly Speedraver. JDM is not "limited" to having only OEM parts from the Japan factory. A lot of cars in Japan are modified by their local aftermarket tuner houses. The cars are still JDM, but just modified.
Viz, so if your JDM Integra or Civic gets the full Mugen treatment, would you still consider it to be JDM? BTW, Greddy in Japan is called Trust. Greddy is just a division created for markets outside of Japan. Much like Infiniti is to Nissan.
