Re: G35C VS. 2004 BMW 645i showdown
My intention was to maintain with the 6 series, I know its going to be very very hard to beat it if ever. But, come on guys, our G sells for $32K VS. $80K for the BMW. Hands down for that amount of money, the bimmer better kick our *** out there on the road or else that would be pretty damn embarrassing. I just wanted to represent our G in this case demonstrate to all others that our G is no snail.
Peace.
Peace.

argue the style but for those who care, the person who was in charge of "styling" (are you kidding me?) at BMW, Chris Bangle, has been "promoted" upstairs. There are now others in charge of bringing design to completion....hmmm, that should tell you something about the 700 series, the 500 series which was quickly revised to a limited extent, and the 600 series.

Is this true? Bangle has been removed from the design team? Short of exiling him to Siberia, nothing could make me happier.
As a former BMW owner and someone who liked every single design they ever produced until the first "Bangleized" one, the Z4 (ok - I wasn't crazy about the Z3 either), and having hated all the designs since, his departure, if it's true, is surely cause for a celebration.
BMWs are such great cars - it was a crime to see them so cluelessly restyled. Here's hoping the damage is reversed quickly...

Re: G35C VS. 2004 BMW 645i showdown
I saw a 6 series at an auto show this past weekend. For the money I'm not terribly impress with the interior or exterior. The back is weird at best. It seem to stick out waaaay too far. There was a 7 series right next to it and the rear is basically the same except the 6 sticks out about a foot more than the 7. I never liked the new BMW front head lights and the front of the 6 looks about as "sexy" as the 7 series.
Anyway, IMHO, the G blows the BMW 6 away in terms of looks.

Re: G35C VS. 2004 BMW 645i showdown
Well, I am somewhat confused by this post.
Are you sure it was a BMW 645? As a couple of poeple have mentioned, I don't think this car is even out yet. I'm in LA where we have an abundance of every car and I've never seen one yet. Also, the car is a coupe on everything I have read about it; I've seen no mention of a convertible.
As far as being ugly....the car looks a lot like the G35 coupe....so I'm surprised anyone on this board would call it ugly.
It also has a 325hp V8 - to I wouldn't race it for pink slips!!

Re: G35C VS. 2004 BMW 645i showdown
While I agree with gsg above about the availability of the 645, it is definitely being released in both coupe and convertible. Just received a BMW promo in the mail yesterday both vehicles were shown. Back to the more important part of is it really out yet. I called my dealer Saturday after receiving the above ad, and he said it would not be available for delivery for a few more months. Something doesn't add up.

Re: G35C VS. 2004 BMW 645i showdown
One of the thrills of owning a G35 is it has very comparable performance to cars twice its cost. So when we're able to hang with cars like the 645i, it's pretty cool. Same goes the other way too, cars like the Neon SRT blowing our doors off and they go for around $22k or so. lol
