What an interesting day. Today while driving with my friend on a 2 lane street a new 2004 645i conv pull up next to me on the left lane and for some unknown reason speed up and cut me off without signaling, well at first I thought he wanted to turn right but instead he just kept on going. So I decided to speed up to the left lane and we were at it for the next block and we were pretty much dead even hitting about 70 MPH before we came to a stop. The driver of the Bmw was a 30ish male and he was shaking his head, pretty much saying you can't beat me, so my friend roll down his window and said in a very loud tone of voice " that is one F*cking ugly car", I know some will disagree but that car is truely ugly, from the side and the back it resembles a toyota solara, I kid you not. Anyways, after my friend said that, that guy turn steaming red and proceeded to give us a "lots of money gesture with his left hand, so my friend gave him a jerking off motion, all the while I was laughing my head off, so while the bimmer guy was distracted I took off after the light turn green and cut him off so were now even. The best part now is that he is looking at our G's great *** and hearing that sweet exhaust note.

get em boy.... thats funny as hell... although u might get flamed for the antics of that whole shameil (spell check) lol... but anyways... i only like the looks of the 6 series from certain angles... i too feel it resembles a solara...but the engine def. doesnt.... the 6 is def. one of the better bmw's.....but the looks go to the g... way to show em' ....

Im not very "up on the new BMW's" so youll have to excuse this rant real quick. What the hell happened to BMW? The 6 looks like a damn toyota on steroids. Granted, the interior definatly has the beautiful BMW feel, but who dropped acid and designed the outside of the car?? Oh yeah, prolly the same guy who designed the 5 and its vincent van gough style taillights. BMW definatly has lost alot of its classic styling cues, hopefully the Z9 wont be badly massacred by this new design team.

I think the new 6 series look good, although the jury is still out on the rear end. But any other angle looks hot.

And don't kid yourself, it should be pretty quick as well.

The last road test I saw had an AUTOMATIC TRANS version running high 13's and 0-60 in under 5.5 seconds.

I wonder how the manual trans or SMG trans will run??

Talk about cost of ownership---! BMWs may go fast, handle well and you can argue the style, but the cost to own, OMG!

Anyway, argue the style but for those who care, the person who was in charge of "styling" (are you kidding me?) at BMW, Chris Bangle, has been "promoted" upstairs. There are now others in charge of bringing design to completion....hmmm, that should tell you something about the 700 series, the 500 series which was quickly revised to a limited extent, and the 600 series.

But even I can't argue the handling and quickness of BMW..

You don't understand, I'm not the bad guy here. I never cut people off, I always obey all laws and I don't race unless strongly provoked. My one and only ticket was a 5 MPH rolling stop at a stop sign at 1:00 am in the morning with absolutely no traffic around for miles as the cops were hiding under a tree taking a break, really tough luck, I know.

I know my friend is pretty immature, but Mixed are you saying then that the rich should be the ones to own the roads ? The Bimmer drivers intentions was to cut people off to show how loaded he is. My friend and I are by all means far from being poor.



Again, I know the 6 series is fast, but its really ugly from the outside or " really really bad looking " ( Zoolander ). I would definetely not pay $80K for that car, no no no.

I'd take the E46 M3 over the 6 anyday. The 6 seems like a car for people who would opt to buy SL500's. While the M3 is for the real car enthusiast, IMHO. The new BMW stylings are either love or hate. I like the new 7's, but don't care too much for the 5 or 6. I hope they do a good job with the new 3 later on, cuz I want to get the next generation M3 if its better than the 07 GTR.

I'm curious as to what area you live in? I just saw the 6 series here at the Dallas auto show. I was pretty impressed with the design. The BMW rep said they weren't out for several more months. Was he wrong? Maybe you ran into a car that isn't in consumers' hands yet. Any guesses? I do know if we are going to run a 6, we better catch 'em not looking. They have some ponies.
