Our tanks should fill up with at least 17-18 gallons on an empty tank...maybe there's something wrong with your gas tank that won't allow you to fill up all the way.

That could explain why you're only getting 180 miles per tank...

Subject of gas mileage is mute without ACTUAL MPG figures. Sheeeesh.

What mpg are you talking about? I have no idea how many miles I get per tank, but I know my mpg.

spark plugs have a big effect on MPG aswell, pull them out and see if they are burnt up or just replace them.

Another good idea is goto your local auto parts store and get some seafoam and put it in the gas tank and intake valve(pcv) to clean your injectors and everything.

Hi guys ... just bought my 05' Coupe 6MT 2 weeks ago. Navi ... loaded.
On the navi unit you can check mpg and since i had it i have been getting 25.4 mpg and went 370 miles on my first tank. i drive 75% highway.

It's a pleasure being here ... i plan to do a bunch of mods and look forward to all your help!

I dunno about that Seafoam suggestion anymore. I used to always use that stuff on my Tacoma but it doens't really seem to clean anything or have an impact on anything(in my experience). I'm starting to think it might be a snake oil. That Chevron Techron fuel additive would probably be better for the gas tank... and I just flat out don't think the PCV cleaning thing does anything more than impress all of the neighbors with a huge smokescreen cloud.

Have you checked for a leak around the tank? My wife's old Jeep had one.

i get around 180-200 miles per tank, the most I ever got was last weekend driving 230 miles in the freeway and then about 70 city. I got it up to about 285 before the light went on and filled it at 300. It might also be your gas station. I know the one I go to won't let anyone fill more than $49 at one time, but I go there because it's always the cheapest.

I never get 17-18 gallons in on a fillup when my light is on for a few miles. I generally only get around 15 gallons in at that point. Our fuel tank capacity is 20 gallons, so unless my fuel tank has a problem (which I suppose is possible), the light comes on with around 5 gallons in the tank.

Well, I have an 05' Coupe (AT) and I usually fill up between 15-16 gallons and will usually get about 250 miles to the tank. I usually get gas before the gas light comes on...usually one notch below the quarter tank marker. I'm sure if I run it until the light comes on, then I would probably get between 300-320 miles. I pour 91 octane gas and the most I've ever gotten on a tank when the gas light came on was about 420 miles...and that was all highway driving.

I drive about 24 miles highway and 15 miles city per day. Usually in city driving I use the Tiptronic (or whatever it's called), and standard auto when on highway. I also live in northern Nevada near Lake Tahoe so our elevation is about 4,500. When I'm at lower elevations, then I can usually get better gas mileage as well as better performance due to the oxygen levels. Your numbers seems a bit low...might need to have it checked out under warranty.

By the way, I don't drive like a granny either
