Pothole: 1 Me: 0

I was driving in Streamwood, IL trying to get back onto the interstate when a pothole the size of the Grand Caynon appears in the turn lane right in front of me. I was unable to avoid it because it took up literally half the lane. I had a car on one side of me and the median on the other. With no place to swerve, I slammed on the brakes trying to lessen the impact... apparently it was not enough. It blew out my front tire and gave me some wicked curb rash. I do not have pictures of the pothole unfortunately, but here are pictures of the damage:

P.S. Yes I know my car is very dirty right now...

wow that sux. Good luck getting it fixed. Good thing u didnt have expensive
as* rims like some do. Not saying the stockers arent, but it would hurt a lot more if u did that to a $1000+ wheel.

Good to see that nothing more occurred after the blow out. Hopefully, the municipality may reimburse you for the damages.

Wow, It sucks that no matter how hard you try to take care of your car, something like this happens.!

I hope they do something about the hole soon. That could cause a serious accident.

I am going to contact the city/state because Illinois has horrible pothole problems and they will reimburse you for the damages (if they think it is warranted) I am going to at least get money for the tire I am sure, but I am going to try hard to get them to replace the rim as well. It looks like sh*t now. Either that or time for new rims... and a drop.
