SplashGuards - Works or not?

SplashGuards - Works or not?
I've heard mixed reviews about the way splashguards look on the G35. Living in Vancouver where it rains all the time, I'm thinking the splashguards might be effective in keeping the sides of the G35 less dirty?
Those that have the guards, how did it compare to when you didn't have them on (in terms of keeping the G35 cleaner). Any input would be great, as I don't want to buy these guards and have them not really be too effective.
Thx,

Re: SplashGuards - Works or not?
My G came without splashguards, so I installed them a month after, and must say that they definitely work. Haven't washed my G in a week and there's noticably more dirt and crap on the splashguard from deflecting all the crap that gets flung off of my tires. If the splashguard was not there, then there would definitely be nasty streaks on the side of the rear fender. Tho, must say, the rear splashguards look much better then the fronts.

Re: SplashGuards - Works or not?
The splash guards are not mud flaps. They do not deflect debris. They merely "cover" the areas they sit over.
In my opinion, I don't know what they are really guarding - since you have to drill holes to install them and they are partially held on with tape - if you pull them off in the future you will probably have holes, tape pulling paint off, and a color difference due to weathering. So what have you protected?
I would use them only if you like the appearance as part of an aero package.

I noticed a big difference after installing them with the stock wheels. I can't imagine how dirty and how many paint chips I'd have without them now that I have wider wheels.
