To the people who just bought a used G35 Coupe
3 miles.
Bought the car in the summer of 2006 from Infiniti dealers lot.......$41,000+(tax-lic.-other fees) paid in whole.
Plus, I traded the original rays 19s for oem 18s the following week. It was because of personal taste.
This past weekend, I bought a used '04 G35 coupe with the sport package and brembo brakes for $19,500; it was $21k and change with TTL. The car only had 25,500 miles on it.
As an owner of another "sport coupe" (Lexus sc300), I'm impressed with the G35. It has a tighter suspension, provides more feedback when steering, has better fitting seats, and has a little more grunt from the engine (in stock form). I also like the additional head room over the sc300. The G35 stereo is a bit lacking, but the sc300 doesn't have dual climate control, satellite radio, or the native garage door opener.
One of these days, I'll probably go the forced induction route with the G35. I've boosted my sc300 because it shares the lineage of the MKIV Supra. So, the availability of parts is limitless; plus, the motor in stock form is a beast. I made nearly 700hp to the wheels on a stock short block and cams; on a built motor, the car currently makes in excess of 850whp. For now, though, the G35 is a car I plan to enjoy day-to-day. It has been a real treat driving so far, and I look forward to being a part of the G35 community for quite some time.
Best regards,

Glad to be here, have been researching/wanting one for the past 6 months.
Finally pulled the trigger on a 04 silver/black (int.), Auto, w/ 46k. Premium wheels, no nav, "fully" serviced (deciding factor on purchase-tires, brakes, all fluids, and 4 wheel alignment). Already had tinting and OEM spoiler. Listed at 21k, got it out the door for 18.5k.
Preferred the 05 due to "upgraded" console (the radio/temp ***** are SO much easier to deal with), but the one thing I settled for in the 04 (and an 03 I also looked at) was the ability to use my "poor mans iPod interface" (cassette adapter).
Looking forward to getting a TON of useful info on mods, care, etc. in here.

I went to Car Max a few days ago, and they put $15,000 on my 04 Auto Coupe with 34,000 miles without any purchase of another car. I thought that was pretty good. I didn't think it was worth much more than around $16-$17,000 retail which of course is a pain to deal with the public. I wasn't selling it, but just wanted to get an idea of today's values. By the way, I saw an 04 Coupe on their showroom floor that was a complete rag with a sticker price of $20,900.

BTW that was the color combo I preferred (ended up with silver/black)
