To the people who just bought a used G35 Coupe
. Thanks!
There was the Prelude, man! For a enthusiast on a budget, the Prelude is a dream.
Celica's weren't bad either, just wasnt as fun but they're just as reliable ( I had a 94Celica with 200k miles).

Very true. And first off I'm not from a rich family and nor am u spoiled! ( middle child for god sake haha) I'm just a average teen with a job and ALOT of patience!!!! My parents will definitely help me out, (paying for insurance) I'm just making the purchase of the car.. I'm sure I'll get some help from relatives and parents with that. And then I'll have to fill the tank a few times as well but that's expected. I am actually looking to pay in full cash, I don't wanna have to deal with payments, financing, interest, etc so getting it out of the way is a must! And finally the g has been a dream car for a while and now with the realization of me getting my hands on one, I don't think I can settle for anything else.
FYI: I'll be doing most maintenance on my own. And if anything gets serious my dad has good connections with a mechanic.

Family helping you is nice, but just be aware that some maintenance (particularly those you can't do) can still be pricey. So look for a G35 that's in the best condition and maintenance. Good luck.

Control arms/bushings if you don't do them yourself will cost around $800--and there are two sets on the front: upper and lower arms. Most older cars with 100k miles need this done. I did them separately on mine to defray the cost.
Off the bat that's about $1500, which is a normal wear item on these cars. Of course it can be done on the cheap if you have the tools and knowledge. I just didn't have tools and patience to do mine.
Not trying to scare you, but just waking you aware. Its not as easy as working on a Honda/Toyota.

Just bought an 03 coupe in red with 138k couple weeks ago for 4k. Cleaned title from original owner but needs new paint job and used front driver seat.
By the time I spend on new paint and used front seats, it will be roughly 6k.

The color is either lakeshore slate or brilliant silver. Not quite sure, Ivory pearl is white.
