How about this option,... "M5" FTW! almost as fast as the M3 just as good looking,.. 4 proper doors and just overall a bit more grown up than the M3.

The things that you are complaining about is saying you should get a brand new Civic Si sedan.. Sorry if you took that as an insult lol.

Hahaha, you think there is 30~40k of dealer mark up on the new M3? or better yet, ppl paying them.

If you takes your time and search it a bit? you will a dealer willing to order it for near MSRP or at MSRP, there are few ppl are willing to give up their spot/ allocation for MSRP at various M3 forums.

why would anyone pay more than msrp for an m3? it's not exactly going to be rare.

OP, if you insist on trading to a different car, pick up a used VW TDi. my friend regularly breaks 600 miles per tank. the engine is unbreakable, and it doesn't look too terribly dated. ok, i dunno about the rest of the parts of the car (glow plugs are a problem, apparently), the suspension is about as sporty as a buick, and they're still pricey for how old/how many miles they have.

getting something that achieves ridiculous mileage figures will be the only way you'll come out alright after a couple years, money wise.

M3. Easy decision. G37 vs. 335i is a better comparison.

Id say for now if you must...buy a used beater. Then save up for whatever car you want later. Because whatever is cool or fresh now..wont be in a few years...new cars are coming out each year...

$100K for an M3? Are you crazy? No way the M3 demands $100K. Anybody who even considers $100K for an M3 needs to have their head examined.

We're not talking a rare commodity here. Cripes.

+1. I'm sure the m3 will be nowhere near 100k.

Op why don't you just get a beater for the week and keep the G as a weekend toy.Good luck with your decision.

The freaking sales tax alone on a new car is like a years worth of gasoline!
(That's a normal car, not an M3....that sales tax is like 3 years worth of gas.)

You are comparing the new M3 to a G37? really obvious choice. The G doesn't even compare.

It will happen when they first come out. Same thing happened when the E39 and E60 M5 came out. My Dad waited two years for his E39 M5 to arrive. The day it arrived, and he was signing the papers somebody offered him $30,000 for his spot in line on dealership showroom floor. People get nutty over these BMW's when they come out. And aren't the new M3's gonna sticker for close to $70K (optioned out) anyways? (that's the buzz in the bimmer community) A 20-30K dealer markup is not out of the question (not to mentiona bidding war amongst consumers on the showroom floor). Like I said people get nutty over these M cars and they have to be the first ones to have it. Some yahoo will pay 100K for one you watch LOL!!!
