Help - Body Work Needed ???
Help - Body Work Needed ???
I was involved in a hit and run last week. Damage isn't too bad, rear bumper is trashed and scatches on the left rear quarter panel. Body shop (recommended by local Infiniti dealers) tells me that it will need to go on the frame pull machine based on slight variance in the gap width from left side of truck vs. right side.
This has me concerned. Anyone out there familiar with body work, straightening, etc. ?

Re: Help - Body Work Needed ???
There is a machine that bodyshops use, usually the Car-O-Liner machine. It will pull the frame back to the specs of where it is suppose to be. If you don't pull the frame the car won't drive straight. Also if u dont have the right shop pull the frame then you also won't have a car that drives straight. It's not a big deal but you must make sure that the people doing it are official. If their work is not A-1 I wouldn't reccommend doing it at that shop. Its not a hard process and once the right people are doing it you will be okay. Are u in the NYC area??
Re: Help - Body Work Needed ???
Thanks for the info. I'm in Houston and took it to the place that 3 out of the 4 Infiniti Dealers in Houston (I called them all) recommended. Apparently there was no frame damage but they did a minor "body" adjustment or pull. Sounds like a Chiropractor to me.
