I went down to douglas infiniti today and i gave them my vpp #. they gave me a price of 33,300 for a coupe 5at, prem, aero package, performance and wheel package. the invoice price on edmunds.com is only 32,350. i thought the price was only supposed to be 400 over invoice! am i getting ripped off? thanks for anyones input!

VPP is a non-negotiable price. They won't be able to rip you off.
A few years ago I bought a car via VPP. They made me sign a form showing how the formula work and how the final price of the car was derived.

Here's the formula for C and D plans (the one you are most likely a part of):

Dealer invoice
Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, etc.
Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
Plus destination and handling charge
Plus marketing assessment as applicable
Minus applicable incentives
Equals paticipant's purchase price


The only way they could be ripping you off is through dealer installed accessories or adding on fees at the end of the deal.

My brother got VPP as a freshalloy member, and he got something like 600 over invoice.

It was 632.and change.... I called him.

what's VPP and how can I get the VPP #?

 

ray-ray - as posted - the approx. $600+ over dealer cost ( edmonds ) is a good "ballpark" #. On my Coupe is was $646. Again as posted - VPP can't be negotiated. I have used it twice within the past year-for the Coupe and FX35.
