G35 C - MPG

Fellas :

what have you guys been getting on your coupes as far as MPG ? I seem to be getting around 14-16 MPG city/hwy. Not as good as my Maxima...oh well I guess you got to pay for the power of those extra horses..

Re: G35 C - MPG

I'm gettin 22 city/hwy up here in Canada that's about 18 in US gallons . In the cold weather that's not bad. I'm expecting about 25-27 summer time on trips. Acceptable for me

Re: G35 C - MPG

I've been getting 14-16 too on a brand new (had 10 miles on it when I got it on Sat) coupe, 6-speed. I'm kinda disappointed, does this improve as the engine breaks in?

Re: G35 C - MPG

I know this is a Coupe question but Damn gsedanman 22 mpg ... how old are you??? j/k I have not been anywhere close to 20 mpg yet in my sedan. After reading 20 mpg was possible I decided to see what happens if I drive like a "little old lady". (The only problem is my neck is hurting from bending down to look through the steering wheel.) I checked today and I have made it to 324 miles on the tank of gas and still have over a 1/4 tank left. I will let you know if I make 20 mpg. I think this is actually the first time I will ever be able to make it over 350 miles on a tank of gas.

Re: G35 C - MPG

I was getting 18 or so in mix driving and 22 mpg on the highway for the first 4 thousand miles. After that I got 25-26 on the highway - I no longer compute city driving.

Re: G35 C - MPG

I had no difficulty getting 30-32 hwy and at least 25 city with my sedan. (last summer) The coupe's a different story. At least 10% down from Sedan.
Around here dude you've got no choise but to drive slow and easy. It's too crappy to have any fun. So mileage will be better because no racing. Come summer things'll be diff.
I'm always looking at the navi. anyway. Cuts into my fun a little. Lately I've been trying to compare the Coupe's mileage with the Sedan and it seems the Coupe is about 10% down with equal driving.
The car is so much fun, it's a shame to think about mileage tho. Car's made to be wupped
I don't know where you live blue. Are you in the cold too?
One thing I've noticed with these cars is they burn gas when warming, big time. They like the summer much more (like me)

Re: G35 C - MPG

No, I am not in the cold... we have seen a trace of snow this year and they closed schools for two days. LOL. I do not drive too much, 3,500 miles since June, so when I do drive the G I tend to have some fun. It makes since that your mileage is so great because you live in the great white north. I will give you a hint where I live ... if the speed limit is posted 65 everyone drives 85-90 (55 > 75-80). It has been said that if you drive the posted speed limit your life expectancy decreases by 10 years. If you have ever driven through here you will know where I live.

Re: G35 C - MPG

I'm getting 19.4 mpg with semi aggressive street driving and 21 miles semi freeway driving. I can't stand when cars are in front of me, I have to be first .

Re: G35 C - MPG

I have been keeping an eye on MPG this week ($2.03 a gallon today!). I drove all highway, about 70-78 mph, for 350 miles. My MPG was 24.5. When I drive mixed highway/in town (fairly aggressive, but I don't want to buy tires in 10,000 miles), I get about 19.5. My 6MT has just about 6,000 miles on it now.

No ... wrong coast. I guess you have not driven through our city or you would know. It is one thing to have one or two lanes driving 80+, but we have up to 6 and 7 lanes in some areas ... Atlanta.

Re: G35 C - MPG

I've got 1,700+ miles on 5AT coupe.

Combined city/hwy in "Drive" mode is 20.1114509. (And that does not include the "fun" factor I still get in "Drive" mode. )

Combined city/hwy in "ManuManiac" mode is 16.4586767. (And that definitely includes the "wild" factor of this mode. )
