Dedicated G Owner...

So I have been a member on the board since June 2006. I wanted the G35 coupe since I was in High School, 2003. Been through college and saved up almost 8,000 which was my down payment on the G35 last weekend. Worked my *** off paying college and saving for a car. I am about to graduate and decided to give myself a little present. I BELIEVE I have a job lined up and decided to just get the car by putting cash down and finance the rest. Found the beautiful IP G35 Coupe 6spd, fully loaded without aerokit. Bought her for about 24k with 38k miles. Finally got my dream car and now I can start saving again to mod. Good to officially be a G35 owner…

Also this is my first manual car. I have practiced and driven manual before on a Nissan Maxima, which was a bit easier. I am getting better on the G but I’m still a lil shaky at drivin’ manual. Only stalled once since I bought it. Also I don’t wanna burn the clutch so I’m tryin’ to learn the flow of the car. If you have any pointers on driving manual that would be great! Thanks everyone ahead of time!

PICS will be up this weekend… I know everyone wants to see pictures!

Tell the truth, working and buying the car on your own dime makes it 10X sweeter, yes?

Congrats on the new ride and the integrity that got you there. Enjoy it.

Congrats... I did something similar... sold my HS car (which I bought), bought a $3,000 beater 1997 Isuzu Rodeo to make it through college, invested the difference, saved everything I could, and then when I graduated in May and got my job lined up, the first thing I did was start shopping around for my G as a graduation present to myself!

My parents were kind enough to give me a 0% loan for the balance of what I couldn't pay (put $8500 down, similar to yourself), and I'll have them paid back by July.

Congrats! Great feeling to buy your own G!

Good job! Bought my G aswell with my first $7k comission from selling my first house! 3% is awesome on a $275,000 home

Enjoy!

Tip: I'm sure you are still hating the 1st to 2nd gear shift. You must baby the shift, shift too quick and youll look like a rook, but it is very tricky! All my gears i shift around 3250rpm for smooth transition. Good luck, show us some pics!

Im 20 years old and have worked my *** off for my G. Currently not in college I have a great job as a BlackJack Dealer making around 60k a year. Im very lucky and considering going to college now. I live on my own with no parents helping and it feels great to know I can go out and spend money on things such as a nice car....lets see some pix!!!

Congrats on the G!!! I know exactly how you feel too. I have always worked hard thorughout my life, and have made a good living so far. When I bought my G in 03 brand new it was an awesome experience to achieve something I have worked hard for.

I went back to school two years ago (took 4 year off) and I am graduating in May. I too have a nice job lined up after I graduate and my first thing I will do is purchase a G37. I can't wait to have my G stable. I am keeping my current G and going FI... can't wait for that either. It's gonna be fun!!!

Just wanted to say congrats. It's very nice when you get the keys and they say can you pull his car around after it's done getting washed. Hearing that is well worth the wait. Congrats and welcome to the ip club.

I can't see the pics.

I have a pointer for you on shifting: If you're trying to go fast from a stop, double-clutch the 1-2 shift, it'll go much smoother and less likely to grind.
