Words out to the dealers and they want it quiet. Est. time to usa 9/04. Just purchased my 2nd coupe and they asked if I wanted to wait till the fall for new h. o. model

 

Although it would be nice to have a 300hp G35 Coupe but almost everything that come out of the dealership salesman's mouth is completely bull and rumors.

so eh

 

Even if the rumor is true, Sept is 6 months from now, not a few months.

 

You can buy your factory 280 hp coupe now, and within 1 month have your own 300 hp coupe (or better). Why let the factory have all of the fun? [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Not sure what the price difference is going to be on the 300HP coupe but for probably less than $500, you can install mods to bring the coupe to 300HP now. Not worth the wait. Betcha the new one has the z tube for one thing. lol

 

300hp coupe would be nice, but if I was buying now, I probably wouldn't hold out for it. 280hp is already more than I'll ever need (until they start building autobahns here), so a 20hp hike isn't that big of a deal. I think it's definitely possible though. After all, Acura added like 35hp to the last TL after a couple of model years.

My guess is 300 in 06' not 05....doesn't make very much sense business wise...even if Acura bumped the TL up.

Its crazy all the change rumors thats flying around about this car.... out of all the cars out their the G is the one I think needs the least changing.

Even though people who are looking into buying one would love the 300hp, I wouldn't count on it. NYAS only 2 weeks away. Infiniti has two big announcements (my guess new Q45, and new M45) the G won't be one of them.

even if it DOES have a 300 hp for '04, it's not going to have a significant change in the engine, just an added bolt on part.

 

Personally, I think Infiniti should offer multiple engine trims for the coupe. So the base coupe would have the current engine. Maybe a S-spec will have engine bolt on's by the factory that push it to 300 hp. And a R-spec has a factory twin turbo or supercharger. That would satisfy me until the GTR is available

(of course the same options could be available for the sedan)

OK I'll bite... exactly what mods can you buy for LESS THAN $500 that achieve 300 HP at the crank?

This also shows direction of the HP war. CTS has new V8 as does pontiac. Proto LEXUS - IS 430 has been built and the Crossfire is getting a blow dryer and this just names a few in the works.
Oh by the way, 5 C notes can give u 20 more HP But infiniti can't advertise that in C & D or Road & Track mag for the discerning car enthusiast when comparing which new toy to buy. IT SHOWS MARKET DIRECTION !!!

I wouldn't buy into the 300HP rumors. I do believe the interior will get an upgrade though.
