Smell of burning

Hey I tried searching, but couldn't find anything that would address my issue. Ok, so here's the problem, sometimes when I leave the car running in neutral for a few minutes and pull an e-brake it starts smelling like something is burning. But I only notice it when it's running while parked. Anybody has any idea what this could be? Oh btw it's an 03, 6mt, coupe.

Look in the engine bay and under the car for excess oil residue. If you see alot of oil could be a leak of some sort or just bad oil changing jobs.

Did you run over a plastic bag? Take a look underneath the car. Sometimes, depending on road debris, a plastic bag may get caught on the exhaust and begin melting causing a burning smell. Take a look, it could be that simple. If it is, just pull as much of you can off of the exhaust then wait for the rest to burn off.

+1 on the plastic bags, they smell like POOP when u run them over and they get stuck on your exhaust it has a horrible smell and it takes a while for it to come off

no I don't think it's a bad, my friend has been through that so I know what that smells like, this smell seems to be coming from the front. Could it be anything with the e-brake? Because I comes on every time it's pulled in.

Can you describe the smell? Does it have a sweet smell to it? Any smoke?
