Oddest dip stick arrangement I've ever seen. Can't seem to get a clean reading on the stick. Reads full on one side, quart down on the back side. Even let it sit overnight to let the oil drain off surfaces, still couldn't get a clean reading. I guess if it's wet with oil, that's good enough.

I have to say that the dipstick location sucks ka ka. I won't even try to read it if it's halfway dark outside since it's a pain to try and reinsert it. My Hondas are much more user-friendly. Oh well....small quibbles for an awesome car....

Yes Guys, that dip stick is pretty nasty. I almost bent mine on the first few attempts at reinstalling, but there's a technique which comes with practice. Our VQ engine is inline for RRD. The VQ engine in my FWD Maxima was a straight shot in for the stick as the engine was transverse mounted.

 

Funny, the March Motor Trend complained about the dipstick on thier long-term test 350Z.
