Bad Tire Wear

Unfortunately, this is an issue that plaques many of the first generation coupes with 18" wheels. I assume you are talking about the uneven tread block wear on the inside of the front wheels. Seems that not everyone has the problem but many do.
I had the problem with every set of tires I had on my 04' coupe. I had it aligned at least a half a dozen times by the dealer and independent shops, yet the problem persisted. The 350z had the same known problem and Nissan issues a TSB for it. I tried getting my car aligned to the specs in the TSB but that did not work as well. It was frustrating to say the least. I finally moved to the much quieter 08' sedan.
If you have this problem, there does not seem to be a solution. The noise is going to be there regardless of what you do, but to extend tire life, you should consider swapping the tires side to side (by dismounting from the rims and remounting).

The inner tire wear causes the tread blocks to wear more in the back than in the front, therefore creating a "fish scale" like feel. This is what makes the horrendous noise.

I only have 16,000 miles on mine but everything is wearing evenly (*crosses fingers*). However, the fronts have started to roar a little bit despite little wear (treads look great, inner and outer sections, after looking with the car jacked uo). And the tire wear is usually a result of negative camber, which is unadjustable from the factory. So, the alignment could be in spec, but sitll wearing out the tires faster than if the car had neutral camber.

I have an '04 with 52k miles and never got an alignment. I still ride on original tires, but I did flip them a while back due to light feathering and I take them off for the winter months, since I also have winter rims and tires. Rears are due for replacement this year. Other than noise I can't complain.

Why cant a company like infiniti / Nissan get this right?

For the most part all Coupes 03-07 are plagued with the front feathering/tire roar issues. I've given up trying to do any more remedies and no longer waste money on alignments. Different tires might slow down the feathering and noise but there is no fix. I would have to rate tire issues as the number one biggest complaint for me of ownership. I've been told that the G37 is not experiencing the same problems. At least not so far......
