Seat belt issue

Does anyone else have the problem of the seat belt locking up on them (as when you stop quickly) and then being quite difficult to release? It's happened to me a number of times, and I don't even have to really jam the brakes to engage the tensioner. The seat belt tightens up and holds you to the seat, then is difficult to let you go. It gets really annoying after a while, cause I'll be there trying to drive after it happens, but I'm pinned to the seat and jostling around to get loose. Try backing up when you can't even move enough to turn around and look, it's not much fun. I just wish that one simple tug after the belt locks up would release the death grip.
Is there a way that the dealer can adjust (correct) this issue??
Thanks

Don't know about the dealer but if you just reach down and back your seat up a touch, it'll reduce that tension and give you the slack you need to make the thing turn you loose. I know, it shouldn't be necessary but it ain't a perfect world.

No I can't say that I've had this problem at all. Sorry.

Re: Seat belt issue

It is a built in function that when you accelerate hard or come to an accident-like stop, the seat-belt tightens for possible impact. It can be taken out, but I have no idea how. Most newer cars have it as a safety thing.

Re: Seat belt issue

It's definitely a good thing to have for safety, but I just wish that it would release a little easier after the 3rd or 4th try to get a little slack in the belt.
At least that's my biggenst annoyance so far, and I'm glad it's something that's pretty trivial overall.
When will summer finally arrive for good here???
