i know the 05's have some oil consumption problems. do the 06's have the same problem? or did they adress it? Does infiniti even reconize this problem if you bring it to the dealer ?

id like to buy a 06 gcoupe, prolly M6. but if thier problems i might consider a different car :\

 

I've got an 06 MT with 5k miles on it....I haven't had a problem with oil consuption. I use synthetic...just FYI.

i'd take an m6 over 10 g35's any day of the week.

 

05-07 6MT's MAY have the oil consumption issues... Not every 05-07 6MT has the problem. if they did Infiniti would have a major recall...

yes Infiniti is awere and will replace your engine under warranty if you have the problem...

i have a 05 Rev-up 6MT with no oil issuse at all...

 

05 6MT with 17k miles, no issues. I know others with 06s and 07s without any issues also.

 

I have an '05 6MT coupe, which had its engine swapped out due to an excessive engine oil consumption problem. That was back in October of '07. Some 5,000 miles later, it appears that the OC issue has been resolved. However, I am still monitoring the oil level on a regular basis.

 

how often should i monitor it? every fill up or so? how much oil is consumed?


should i even chance it? i mean i love how g35 coupes look but i dont want some lemon pos car.

 

It definitely varies from the different VINs because mine is an 06 and I do not have oil problems.

 

So basiclly the worst that can happen is i buy one with the oil consumption and i get the motor replaced under warranty ?

I'm nearing the end of my OC test on my 06 6MT with 15k. I check the oil level about twice a week. I'm about 7mm below H at 1000 miles. The TSB states mininimum of 8mm below H for 1000-1500 miles requires new long block assembly.

Get the car...you'll love it! Just watch the oil level and make sure the car is under warranty.
