350Z vs. G35 Coupe

I just visited the www.my350z.com site, and there are so many complaints about the new Z. Now, I know both cars are similar in many ways, but what's going on with Nissan??? There were many complaints about engine oil leaks & trannies needing to be replace on Z's with less than 6000 miles.

Re: 350Z vs. G35 Coupe

less experienced drivers? 1st manual car owned? Cars bought by mommy and daddy so they don't have as much respect for the car?

There's lots of factors involved. I enjoy going to both sites, but if you noticed the my350z crowd is a little different vs. G35driver crowd. I don't know if the production of g35 vs 350z is the same. I know there's a lot of 350z's in production over g35's, so maybe 350z's were rushed?

I just turned 21 in January, but my mommy & daddy didn't give me a dime for my coupe.

Wow.. Alot of young guys own these cars, it seems - I'm 40. My first performance car was a 1971 Trans AM with the 455 HO, which I bought when I was 20. Before that, all I had were street bikes (a bike is a bitch to haul groceries or go on a date with. The date thing my look all romantic in the movies, but that ain't reality)..

Anyhow, I'm really surprised to see comparatively young guys with the means to afford such cars. Perhaps you guys are the exceptions to the rule?

One nice thing about being old - at least my insurance is cheap - ($1K/year, for 500/500/500 $250 deductible).

Hardly- most people who drive fancy cars and whatnot who are young try to act all self-made and whatnot, but 9/10 of them get it from mommy and daddy, but won't admit it b ecause they'll be made less of a man or something.

Me, i don't care. I was born into a good life; I've got no reason to sit there and pretend i'm self-made.

Sure, there is the odd bird who scored big in the market or with a start-up business or just got lucky and won the lotto, but most younguns out there are riding on the coat-tales of mommy+daddy.
