get a friend to help you hold the hood while you loosen the bolts on the side that the hood is hitting the fender. have your friend tug, pull, adjust it, etc. then you tighten the bolts back up and you're good.

I have the same exact problem. I was at the dealership monday to get a state inspection, head light recall, and service done. I mentioned the problem with the hood and its being fixed under warranty and they sent it out to a body shop to repaint the affected area. They still have my car and i still have their loaner.

It's a problem with the hinges. Covered under warranty. Get it fixed right away or you will need (or may already need) paint.

My car is a 2003 and it is now 2008. Will this be covered still under warranty or am I screwed?

I had this problem with my 04. it was catching the corner of the passenger side fender when i opened it. I just started to pull the hood towards me then lift upward and it cleared it.

Now it doesn't do it anymore. this might work as a temp fix if it's not catching a huge part of the fender.
