I had to replace my fronts on my 04AT sedan at 34K, 3 1/2 years.

Back brakes are still OK at 4 1/2 years, 49K miles. So YMMV on brakes.

Yeah it is an Infiniti dealership. I really don't mind replacing a damn air filter but for like 10 bucks you'd think they'd throw a fresh one in before a person bought one of their used vehicles. At this point I might as well have bought from a private sale and saved a thousand or two. It's just not something I'd expect from a dealership that specializes in Infiniti.

I'm a novice at cars at best and I don't like to screw around with most things involving maintenance, the only thing I usually do myself are air filter and oil changes, and sometimes I just pay the 30-40 dollars to have them do the oil. I would have gone to that dealership and been a good customer with services and repairs, now unless something drastic happens I'm not trusting them with my vehicle again.

I would have even paid for the pins and clips to be replaced, but no one said a word to me that they were missing. It's like he closed the hood and hoped I wouldn't find it.

Do I have any ground to stand on here Mike? Or is this all just inane babble?

At this point, unfortunately, there's nothing you can do.

In California, everyone has the right to have a used car looked over by their own mechanic, and we're more than happy to allow customers to do that.

At our dealership (these are our own standards), virtually every used car will get new brakes, new tires, new air filter, new fluids, and the 30k/60k service if theyre within 10k miles or so.

Yes, our used cars cost a little more than most, but you are getting the cream of the crop by purchasing from us, and don't have to worry about maintenance costs 6 months down the road.

If only every dealership did this...
