Honestly if you can get anything off of a 6MT consider yourself the luckiest person on the earth. I work for Infiniti and as far as I know there arent too many 6MT's left to buy and those that got them are 1 of 3000 to be owners for this model year. Your best bet for even finding one is if someone ordered one or put their name and deposit on one and backed out of the deal. I just saw one recently on here where that happened but I am sure it is sold already. Good Luck.

 

Wow.. I had no idea I'd gotten so lucky. With the games dealers play on pricing (slide your trade up $1k vs sticker or down $2k with a $1k discount, etc) it's kinda hard to tell whether you're doing OK or not. I took a deal where the dealer gave me $1k more for my trade than they originally said they would, while leaving the coupe at MSRP.

And see, that's why I'm asking. I spoke with a dealer who told me that they were instructed by Infiniti not to take anything off MSRP. But if you"ask in the right way", you can get a "credit" or "money to get you out of your lease". I've spoken to two dealers and they easily agreed to pay to get me out of my lease or pay my end lease charges (for my existing car). But they would not go anywhere near "money off of MSRP". In the end, it's the same thing, but it is interesting the way they phrase things. I guess as long as that invoice says the MSRP price, they can do things to get around the total price.

 

Yea, my dealer said they're not taking anything off the coupes...nothing. Either you pay their price or you don't get one.

speedproduction - since you work for Infiniti, do you know the actual production numbers for the coupe? If I remember correctly, my dealership told me something like 8,000 coupes produced, and only 10% of them were 6MT. Do you know if this is true or not?? I wonder what the %'s are for the different colors too....anyone?

That dealer lied to you. The dealer can go below MSRP if they want to. Infiniti does not dictate to the dealer that they can't sell a car below MSRP. That's pure BS.

Another lie from another dealer. I don't know what the actual % of 6MTs were, but I can guarantee you its way more than 10%. At least a third, IMO.

This is why I hate buying a car - you get lied to so many times its disgusting. I thought Infiniti dealers would be better, but I guess not. Its a real challenge to find a dealer who is honest and straight forward with your. Honest car dealers are about 10%. Maybe that's the number he was referring to! LOL

It is just a simple case of demand and supply. Since the demand of 6MT is much more than the production, most of the dealers are charging MSRP. Some people in specific areas might have gone lucky because the demand was not so high in that specific area.

 

haha very true Z06...I hate screwing around with dealers. You never know who you can trust....

I think isparadox hit on something - here in Alpharetta, GA, the Infiniti dealer had something like 5 6MTs and 3 automatics to sell. The 3 automatics were gone within a week; the 6MTs sold more slowly - I think they may still have a laser red 6MT. I would have bought the red, but I don't like the spoiler and the silver w/o a spoiler is very attractive to me, so I bought it. (TEHO).

 

ZO6 -- you say that the dealer LIED and that 6MTs are about 33 percent of total production. I read in one of the major car magazines that the first year production for G35c was about 11,000 cars, with 10 percent of that 6MT. Where do you get your numbers? I suspect that there is alot of misinformation out there - even magazines get this stuff wrong. But my dealer told me "about 1,200 6MTs and this was consistent with what I read (I think it was Car & Driver). Peace.

Allright I dont know what other dealerships have been telling all of you folks, but heres what I have known and still known. The total production of coupes for the model year is 12000 units nationwide including Canada, and about 25% of those are supposed to be 6 speeds and thats what we have told all of our customers here at our dealership. I am sorry if some of you were misinformed, but if you dont include Canada that number available would be about 8 - 9000 (unsure of this number) and if you divide that by the 50 states, thats about 180 vehicles max per state. Obviously some of the more populated states in the country would recieve more than others, including 6MTS. Here in Upstate NY there have been about 30 coupes sold so far, and about 30 more to be delivered over the next few months. Basically if you got a 6MT, reallly you are lucky and have a damn good time in your ride, peace.
