Fog light rewire?
Fog light rewire?
Does anyone know or has anyone done a rewire on the fogs so you can turn them on independently of the HIDs? I think this would make cool day-running lights what with their positioning and all. I did try to search btw, but got nothing. Sorry if I missed it.

Re: Fog light rewire?
DUDE! I asked that EXACT same question on the Technical Modifications section, but nobody was able to help me out. I agree, it would be really nice for a daytime running light feature, or to just be able to turn the fogs on for when it's raining in the middle of the day (rather than having to turn on all your lights and letting the gauges get dim and stuff). Please help us. =(

Re: Fog light rewire?
I looked at the manual and the fogs are controlled through the IPDM (intelligent power distribution module) which is in turn controlled by the BCM (body control module). long story short, it's all computer controlled and not easilly modifiable. Easiest way would be to add a separate switch and relay to apply +12 to the lights and connect it after the stock relay located at the IPDM.
sorry doesn't really answer your question about using the stock switch. I'm going to be doing a mod to my lights soon and will do some probing to see if it's possible to adapt the stock switching gear, I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks.

I agree, but you do know that you can turn your lights on in the day, and switch it so your dash doesn't dim. I have mine on the brightest setting all the time!
