Your Thoughts & Opinions...

Needed!

Here's the story:

I have a "G partner in Crime" - Rugratcoupe. We both have just about the same mods (see below) with the exception that he has an Injen CAI and a light flywheel and clutch.

We often go to the drag strip and I have only beaten him once. Now before you say it’s the driver let me tell you how a typical race goes down.

I most always get the jump off the line especially if I got the drag tires on, but down on the top end he always catches up. This has been a constant even before he got the new clutch/flywheel. We dynoed back to back on the same day and he had about 2 hp more to the ground than I.
He is getting some top end from somewhere and I'm wondering if it is the Injen CAI. I hate to start playing around and spending a lot of money trying to figure this out.

Here are some numbers from our latest drag outing:

Chops best - 14.033 at 99.74 mph 60ft - 2.092

Rugs best - 13.86x at 101.xx mph 60ft - 2.12x (numbers from memory)

Sincerely Yours,

Chops (getting beat SUX)

03 G35C/6MT/DG/G/PREM Stillen Exhaust, Stillen Air Box, 350Z Tube, Crawford Plenum, Eibach Pro Kit, 19" BBS RG-R Wheels, Stark 30 Huper Optik, Random Technology Hi Flo Cats, Mobile One Synthetic, Impul Rear Spoiler, rebadged in Black Chrome.

Now im no Dyno master but to me 2hp is meaningless. So many random variables that 2hp is probably within the error range of the dyno.

Why don't you let him drive your car and you drive his for a few runs.

*edit* hey also you got pics of your black chrome?

Maybe he's getting 100-200 more rpm in each gear with his shifting style. Strange.
