Carwash damaged my chrome wheel!!!

The home association recently banned car washing in the streets and I had to take the car to one of those gas station car washes. The metal ramp that takes the car into the car wash scratched the chrome and metal on the front left rim. As soon as car was done with the wash I got out of the car and I freaked!!! The rim had a deep quarter inch scratch and about 6inches total in scratches. I got the attendant to give me a form to fill out. Has anyone gone thru a similar experience? Lemme know. Your input will help.

Re: Carwash damaged my chrome wheel!!!

Many here have had a similar issue bro. The profile of the tire is so low, it allows the rim to touch the rail.

You'll have to get it repaired and avoid the car washes. Sorry

Those metal ramp should have heavy foam padding to avoid this kinda thing from happening. In the age of low-profile tires and chromez, what the heck are the car wash owners thinkin?

MrElussive, where is that car wash? Do they also have a touchless system?

BTW, most car wash places have a sign that says they aren't responsible for wheel damage due to the rails. You might be out of luck, but this place seems damn decent if they had a form for you to fill out.

Re: Carwash damaged my chrome wheel!!!

how much is it to get the chrome fixed? anyone know?

check this out.

2 weeks ago I got a 1st ding on the door after 16months. And I know what vehicle did it too. A friggin domestic minivan. I normally park in corner spots but that they my daughter was getting annoyed and had to park asap.(of course that car wasn't there when I parked. I could see the ding since it was night time. What do you when someone dings your car? And you just know it cuz there were no dings???

About a week ago, a box cutter knife blade struck the rear left wheel and gave me a flat...with 2 kids in the back seat...Why is there a blade in the middle of the street. I tell you they ain't spending on cleaning up the roads...

And today this....

I must be hexed....
I love my G...and don't we all?

Re: Carwash damaged my chrome wheel!!!

What are you people doing using automatic car washes on your baby? That's blasphemy. Those things suck and just leave swirls on your car.

And don't say anything about them being "touchless". Notice the army of illegals waiting to wipe it down to dry it with a towel they've been using for 6 straight hours.

Re: Carwash damaged my chrome wheel!!!

I got lazy after 7 months of washing my Coupe on my own. I took it to a brushless car wash. You guessed it. My front left wheel got scratched on the outside of the rim by that metal rail used to guide the car. I have 17's and the rim is damaged. That's my first and last automatic car wash!

Yeah, the touchless place near me doesn't have people dry your car unless you go into the swirlmaker 2000. The touchless part gives you a final rinse with deionized water, so there is no need to dry the car. I used to take my old car there all the time, but have been too afraid with the coupe because of the guard rail.
