lowered g35 on snow

For those of you who have lowered your g35, are there any difficulties driving them on snow?

i'm planning to lower my g35 coupe, but i'm worried if it will get me troubles for driving it on snow.

Re: lowered g35 on snow

what's the worst can happen to drive a lowered car on snow?
if the car is lowered do we have enough ground clearance to drive on the snow?
I really want to lower my coupe since i'm planning to get a set of 19' rims.. but i'm really concerned about the snow.. coz I live in MI

If you are having so much concern about it, then dont' lower your car but still get the 19" and you wont' have any problems?

Re: lowered g35 on snow

vic,
I am thinking the same. I am just going to order the tein h springs. They don't lower it too much so it should be fine in the snow. I would rather go Eibach but I need to drive in the winter and I already scratch my muffler backing out of my driveway.

Mixed.. yes.. I was also thinking not to lower my car... but isnt that the car will look better if you have 19' rims and lower the car?

dgbos.. does eibach lower the car more than tein h springs?

19" wheels plus lowered car in Michigan doesn't sound like much of a good idea. I always read about bad roads (lots of potholes?) in Michigan. Is that true? If so, you'll have a very choppy ride in the summer and will slip around in the winter (hard/impossible to find 19" snow tires).

GX9901.. I will never use 19' rims during winter in Michigan..
I'm planning to put on Blizzaks on my stock 18' rims... and get 19' rims for summer only..
I want to lower my coupe because she will look much better with the 19' rims on.

Re: lowered g35 on snow

I live in Boston and am planning to lower my G. My winter set up that I just went through a pretty tough winter with is the 17" blizzaks. I don't think I would have a problem with 17's in the winter with a lowered car...but if your going the 18" route for winter then I maybe you should reconsider.

Re: lowered g35 on snow

Vic-Before you go through with the plan you should make sure that you'll be able to get 18" snow tires. I looked for them last year and they seem to be either rare or non-existent. I ended up getting a set of 17" rims with snow tires mounted on. Hopefully everything works out well for you.

Re: lowered g35 on snow

They do exist but are very rare. For example ....I called tirerack and had some ready to be shipped....didn't have my CC on me so I call back 3 hours later and they are nowhere to be found...So I ended up going with the 17"rims and tires set up through my local Firestone ($1700).

Sixone.. You said that lowering the car and put a set of 17" winter tire set up will not be a problem in snow..
but do we get enough ground clearance? coz sometimes we get 6 inches of snow in MI..

Re: lowered g35 on snow

I actually just called one my friends who just had his IS lowered 1.5 inches too see what he had to say, but it seems that we haven't really gotten any signifigant snow since. Thursday its rumored we might get 4" and ill let you know how he says it goes.....but as of now I plan on lowering my car in two weeks and will just have to wait and pray til next november.
