well all these MPG's that are in the 300's or even 400's give me hope! But why do you guys think it varies so much? Does it really make such a difference the way you drive?

I REALLY think running the AC really hurts the MPGs. This is true for all cars, but I think it's especially true for this car. When I hit the Auto Econ button, it always turns on my AC...even when it's 50-degrees outside and I have the temperature inside set at 78-degrees. If I run my AC, I know my MPGs will drop to 300 miles per tank or less.

Well I don't own the G anymore, but I did 350 miles every tank and fill up around 14-16gl (my fuel gauge was bad). On the A6 I can do close to 500 miles (21gl tank) and average is 27-32mpg if doing consistently at 65-70mph. My boss Prius can do 500 miles before re-fueled (70% city / 30% hwy). Hybrid is nice, but only if you do city a lot.

I drive 70% highway, 30% city through Houston. I generally get around 380-400 before the gas light comes one and I generally average around 24mpg. I always drive with AC on Auto Econ. Use cruise control if/when at all possible in Houston traffic. Driving speed is usually 70-75. The only "mod" I have at the moment is a K&N filter.

15-17mpg here according to the NAVI. 06 6mt bone stock. 60/40 city/hwy

Have no idea how anyone is getting 24mpg. That better mileage than a Honda Civic.
