WOT all the time...question

I have 7700 miles on my car so I know it's properly broken in, my question is, is it ok to be on it all the time? I love the pull of this car so much that i can't help myself. I'm not red lining it, but I'm often at 5500rpm in most gears b4 I shift.

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

I wouldn't worry about it much. They can take a beating. Worry about your tires and getting arrested first.

Nah, no worries. The car is meant to be driven .

Re: WOT all the time...question

lol 5.5k+ rpm all the time haha. Don't you have to pay for your own gas? I'm sure it won't have an effect on the car for a long time.

Re: WOT all the time...question

the only thing you'll hurt is your wallet, either with speeding tickets, new tires, or excessive gas charges =P

You should try and find some "hot lapping/driver education"
track days in your area. They're a blast and you can get on your car as hard as you want/can, without worrying about the normal stuff on the street (kids/pets running out, debris on the road, other drivers, police, etc...)

Re: WOT all the time...question

Don't get me wrong, I don't speed in residential areas or anything. But when I'm on an open road, boy, I love it!

Yeah. Do not follow this post with a "WTF...Anyone else getting a 14 MPG mileage?" thread .

No, I know. I'll pay the extra money for the gas. =)

That's like asking, "I love my wife/ girlfriend and I think she's sexy, is it okay to be on her all the time? I can't help myself, but sometimes my blood pressure is often at 140/90 before I'm done..."

Same answer to both questions. No worries -- your engine and your ticker can both handle it, in fact it's probably even good for them! ;-)
