well last night i was driving in college park MD and it was 10:30 so there were no cars on the road, i was driving about 65 and speedlimit is 40 , a mustang was driving next to me and he sped off like we were racing. Well he kept bottoming out his car and shooting sparks so i really slowed down and next thing you know im in front of McDonalds and 4 state troopers pull him and i over. I got a ticket for drag racing and reckless driving when im not guilty of either of those, yes i was speeding but no i was not racing. i think he just got me on that since they dint have like a radar for the actual speed i was going. Well those tickets are
reckless- 6 points, 510$
drag racing- 5 points, 290$
2 repair orders, tinted tailights, hks exhaust. and now iam just considering selling it all. especially if i lose my license over nothing.

 

Wow that sucks. Maybe argue the tickets in court? Lawyer?

 

ohh its definately going to court, i cannot afford to lost my license, i have school and work to get to, and especially to pay those fines for something i dint do, ok get me on a speeding ticket but on that bologna cmon now

 

Damn man i hope everything works out for you. My friend got a street racing ticket over summer in Ocean City and he wasnt even racing. He got a lawyer and he ended up with a $290 fine instead of $800 and had to do some community service. His license didnt get suspended or anything. College campuses are hot spots and there are cops everywhere especially College Park.

damn, sorry to hear. I would definitely take this to court with a lawyer.

Even at worst, you can appeal for a provisional license while yours is suspended allowing you to drive to school and work. But if you're caught outside of those parameters you get it in the butt.

Get yourself a lawyer and take it to court. You can explain exactly what happened and basically, there is reasonable doubt there. There is an obvious possibility that you were not actually racing at the time and the mustang was trying to provoke you. Yes, it is the cops word against yours, but they could have not known whether or not your were racing unless they saw you take off at the same exact time.
