My car still have 2 yrs left w/factory warranty, will the warranty cover clear coat? The clear coat is peeling off the rear bumper.

 

Good question... have you done anything or cleaned your car with anything to cause that to happen?

give it a try since the car is so new that shouldnt happen...

 

what soap do you use to wash your car?

 

I just bought the car a month ago from a acura dealership. It had a clean car fax and 1 previous owner. I had wash twice, 2 weeks ago at the car wash and wax it last week with Meguiars NXT. Couple days ago wash the car again at the car wash because it rained. After drying the car I notice the clear coat on the rear bump rubbed off, its about 6inch in radius. I havent had a chance to call infiniti yet.

 

factory clear coat usually doesn't peel. since this hasn't been a common problem among infiniti and infiniti paint, i would suspect that the rear bumper has been painted. a bumper repair may not show up on a carfax report. the dealership should be able to figure out if it has or has not been painted. if it is factory paint, the warranty should cover it.
